In 1994, Danyang female worker Jing Yun bought the velvet workshop of the original Danyang velvet silk weaving factory, carefully studied velvet, and visited famous teachers. Finally, she learned a whole set of Nanjing velvet hand-woven weaving skills from a Zhou master in Suzhou and innovated. At the end of 1999, Dai Chunming of Danyang velvet silk weaving factory made the first mechanical weaving velvet product, completed the semi-mechanical weaving velvet, and the quality was stable and the gloss was good. It was awarded the “utility model patent certificate” by the state. From then on, the velvet weaving was changed from manual to semi-mechanical weaving. From small test to pilot test to mass production, the previous two people could only weave 0.8 meters a day. Now one machine weaves 4 meters a day, and the output is less than 2000 meters. Increased to nearly 200,000 meters, to meet the market demand for high-end apparel fabrics. In 2003, the intangible cultural heritage project velvet weaving technology provincial representative inheritor Yin Zhicong presided over the production of carved velvet reproduction, trained the carved velvet artisans, collected and collected a number of traditional works and production tools, restored a full set of carved velvet production process . Dai Chunming’s daughter, Dai Ling, successfully copied a carved velvet chair draped in the early Qing Dynasty and won gold and silver prizes at the 2013 China Arts and Crafts Boutique Expo and the Jiangsu Province Arts and Crafts Grand Prix. On March 26, 2007, the velvet weaving technique declared by Danyang City was announced by the Zhenjiang Municipal People's Government as the intangible cultural heritage of Zhenjiang City. In November 2008, it was announced by the Jiangsu Provincial Government as the first batch of intangible cultural heritage in Jiangsu Province. .
