Shearing is the main method of picking hair.

1. Shearing times

The number of shearing is generally 4 to 5 times per year. According to the growth rule of rabbit hair, the hair growth period is 90 days for the first grade hair, 70 to 80 days for the first grade hair, and 60 days for the second grade hair. In order to meet the habit of long-haired rabbits like winter; warm summer cool, the shearing time of 5 cuts per year can be arranged in early March (80 days of hair growth), mid-May (70 days of hair growth), and late September ( Hair growth period of 60 days), early October (80 days of hair growth) and mid-December (90 days of hair growth).

2. Shearing method

Shearing is usually done with a special shearing shear, or a hairdressing shear; or a tailoring shear. A skilled shearer can cut 1 rabbit every 5 to 10 minutes. The order of shearing is the midline of the back -> body side -> hips -> neck -> submandibular -> abdomen -> limbs -> head. The cut rabbit hair should be boxed according to the length, color and quality. The direction of the wool is the best.
